1914 : 2012 Through shadowy fields I walked1914 : 2012 by ~Kaboodleschmitt
In the corners of my mind.
My eyes beheld the horrors of war
At a distance, surreal, through lens refined.
The graveyard I entered, mausoleum
Of the soldiers and men who, unreal,
Became wisps and shadow, unsettling dreams,
Was gaunt and pale and wan and...
Mud and blood, mud and blood and
Guts and gore, those too. My mind tells me
War is mud and blood. Wilfred Owen says
It's guts and gore.
I believe him, I believe him but
I cannot know
Reading descriptions of war to me is like
Reading "How to Breathe" to a fish.
Disconnect.
Walking through a field of dead

The Bard's Tales What is art?The Bard's Tales by ~Kaboodleschmitt
The bard knew art.
The bard drew art
With his words.
Across the sky he painted dragons,
Riding high upon the wind.
Dwarven warriors with their flagons
Drew he there, in tumultuous din.
Spellbound children looked on, awestruck,
Spellbound adults seemed the same
As the bard in his art told of hero's luck
And the age when the dragons came.
The tavern o'erflowed with listeners when
The bard took the stage with his art.
His words and his magical spell, then,
Were composed when he spoke with his art.
He wound them round and down, and down,
And down still deeper than e'er before.
Ale unwanted, the crowd watched. &

Egret's Flight Fearsome talons gripped the nest asEgret's Flight by ~Kaboodleschmitt
The eagle spread her wings.
Bright eyes flashed green
And its heart, now free, sings.
The last of the eggs to hatch, she was,
The last of the egrets alive.
In a bitter, harsh world,
She's the only girl
And she's had to work hard to survive, but
Now the day's come, she opens her wings
And, looking ahead, leaps off.
A thousand feet below taloned feet
Lie rocks where the hard things grow, but
She flies high, and straight, and true.
Her wings catch the breeze
And her heart bursts free
As she surges ahead through the blue.
At last she can be
What an eagle is.
At last she can free
Her soul.

Song of the Legionaire "General gave his orders.Song of the Legionaire by ~Kaboodleschmitt
We march, we march.
Magi gave protection.
We fight, we fight.
General gave his orders so
We march, we march.
Honour binds us,
Honour keeps us,
Magi protects us so
We march, we march.
General gave his orders:
March! March!
Magi cursed our enemy:
Fight! Fight!
Now is the time of glory!
General gave his orders so
We march, we fight!
We are the deathless corps.
We are the Emperor's Hand.
We are the Emperor's Right Hand
So we march, we fight, we pray
We die.
General gave his orders so
We fight and we die and
The magi gave protection so
We die and we fight and
The general stands
At the back of

Under the Deadwood Tree The cold, the deep,Under the Deadwood Tree by ~Kaboodleschmitt
The dark, and the damp
Gather under the Deadwood tree.
Shadows cling there,
Life decays there,
Witches brew there,
Chill things cling there,
Dark things gnaw there:
All this and more 'neath the Deadwood tree.
Sparkling water gurgled nearby -
No more 'neath the Deadwood tree.
The sun shines on brightly
But its light becomes frightly
Under the boughs of the Deadwood tree.
The Deadwood tree twists
And turns
And warps
And changes all things near it,
Perverting them 'till they
Became part of the Deadwood tree.
Beneath the boughs of the Deadwood tree,
Locked away, far from sight,
A lonely lantern gleams for

"Living in a goldfish bowl"
"If I was to paint a pidgin orange n out it in a pond, would YOU mistake it for a goldfish?" - Me
I am impressed, you should colour more. I guess the only thing is I think the edges should be blended in a bit more.
I like how you shaded the pointy things

So no, it's usually entirely dark and brown, with a tad of purple for the muscles. I decided to play around with that a little bit, though.
And hmm, how do you mean 'blended in a bit more'? Do you mean that I should make it a part of the background? Cause I purposefully didn't do that, hehe
And thank you, those pointy things were fun to shade. Then again, so were those pointy things...
I just meant the picsal... picksul, no, that's not right, picsel? Arg >_< I CAN'T SPELL. WHATEVER THAT WORD IS, around the edge at the top of the hydralisk, where it's not very smooth around the edge.
